Monday

We are happy to be back to school after a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

My math class is working on subtraction and will start tomorrow with regrouping!!!!  Remember borrowing the one?  

Reading:  My 2-M reading class will have 14 spelling words that we will use this week and next.  The words are the following:

liked, using, riding, chased, spilled, making, closed, hoping, baked, hiding, standing, asked, mixed, sleeping

The spelling test will be on Wednesday, December 9 and Thursday, December 10.

Our field trip for grade 2 is this Friday!!!!

Tuesday

The Friendship Fruit letter went home yesterday....if you were asked to provide a canned fruit for next Tuesday you may send it in anytime!  If you were asked to send in a fresh fruit please wait until Monday or Tuesday to send it in.  Thank you!!

In math we are now at the end of chapter 4.  We will review tomorrow and test on Thursday.

In reading we are now on the story, "Super Storms."  Please have your child read this story at home for practice.  Our spelling words go along with this story and our test will be on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday

What a lovely assembly to celebrate our Veterans the school had today!!  Thank you to all who have served.

Our math class had a review lesson today on addition of 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping and rewriting the numbers.  Homework tonight is also a review!

Reading:  We had a our spelling test today and they were quite good!  Some will need to retake the test tomorrow.  Our test over "The Ugly Vegetables" is tomorrow.  The questions will be read to the students and they will be on their own to read the answer choices and make their selections.

Our reading class is also making vegetable soup tomorrow!  Yummy!

Literacy Night

Come to Literacy Night tonight at our school from 5:30-7:30!!!  Food, fun, and lots of games centered around words and stories for grades Preschool-2nd grade!

No school tomorrow in honor of Veterans Day.

Veterans Day program starts at 9:00 on Thursday at our school....everyone is invited.  Wear red, white, and blue.

Tuesday

Today is Election Day!  Don't forget to vote!

Picture re-take day is tomorrow for our school.

Remember that P-T conferences are Thursday evening and Friday morning.  Your child will not have school on Friday.

November is here!

It's hard to believe we are in November!  This month will fly by!

I sent home reminders today if I have a conference scheduled with you.

My reading class started the story, "The Ugly Vegetables" today.  We will spend all of this week and next week on this story. We will also have the same spelling list this week and next.  The words are:

rock, black, trick, kick, full, dress, neck, add, spell, stuck, class, doll, off, will, across, pocket

We are adding with and without regrouping in math!
