End of September

We are looking forward to our field trip tomorrow!!  Please remind your child to bring a sack lunch along with a drink.  Dress for the weather and old shoes are recommended!!!  Parents please arrive to school with your child, if you are going with us, or shortly after!!!  If you are driving behind the bus please take note the buses may be at the side or behind the school.

The class will be very busy tomorrow taking a math test over chapter 2 on numbers to 100, taking a reading test over, "Henry and Mudge", and celebrating Johnny Appleseed's birthday!!

We will be going on a field trip next Wednesday.  A letter explaining the field trip is being brought home by the 2nd grade students today.  There is no cost for the students, but there will be for the parents who want to go.

We say good-bye to summer today.  

We have started a new theme in the reading book.  Our next three stories will all be about nature.  Our first story is, "Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night."

I will be out tomorrow.  Mr. Jones will be the substitute.  I will be back on Wednesday!

Fall will arrive next week!  I am glad the weather is still nice to say good-bye to summer.

Our spelling tests are going very well.  I am proud of the students and how well they prepare for the tests.

We will be taking a test over the last silly story, "Mrs. Brown" tomorrow.

The students are bringing home their mid-chapter 2 test in math.

September is half over!

It's hard to believe September is now at the half-way mark.  Time is going way too fast!

We had an awesome time today discussing apple seeds and eating apples!!  We saved the seeds and the kids are bringing home a neat experiment to conduct in your refrigerator!  Don't worry, it is not messy!

Our reading story out of the anthology is "Mrs. Brown Went to Town."  

The students have Library tomorrow.

We have a wonderful Grandparent's Day today!!!  Please tell your parents a big thanks for coming today.  The students enjoyed it so much!!!!

The students have math homework tonight.
We had lots of 100% in spelling today!!!!!

Hump Day!!

We released two beautiful Monarch butterflies today!!!  They took flight instantly!!!!  The kids absolutely loved seeing the butterflies fly away.

Tomorrow is our spelling test.

Grandparent's Day for grade 2 is tomorrow form 10:00-11:00 a.m.

The students are bringing home their reading test today from "Dragon."  I read the entire test to them for this first test.

Spelling again tomorrow for anyone who missed one or more.  

Frequent bathroom breaks are given throughout each school day.  I never deny a student from going to the bathroom when they ask.

The bus passes have changed.  They are now in a set of three sheets.  Top copy stays in the office, second sheet goes to the bus driver.  The third sheet goes home with the student.

Math test tomorrow over chapter 1.

It's kind of nice to think we are already in the middle of our work week!
