Happy Thanksgiving!!!  I hope all of you have a lovely holiday with family and friends!!

The students enjoyed the Friendship Fruit Salad.

We practiced a drill today.....ask you child about it.

Tuesday

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!

Our spelling words next week will be 12 review words.

Our selection in the anthology, "Big Bushy Mustache", will continue into next week.  We will probably test over it on Wednesday.  I would like to spend Thursday and Friday on reading poems and answering questions about the poems.

In the event bad weather would occur overnight and school would not be in session tomorrow, we will have our Friendship fruit on Tuesday of next week.

Friday

No spelling words next week....short week....students come Monday and Tuesday and get out at 1:00 on Wednesday.

No homework in math or books-in-a-bag next week.......we need a little break!

Have a great weekend!  Be prepared for cold weather.....I have heard it's on the way.

Thursday

Sorry!  I made a mistake in yesterday's blog......The "Funflatable" paper that was sent home yesterday was not a permission slip......it was simply a slip to ask for volunteers to monitor the students while they are playing on the funflatables!!!  Sorry, my bad!  

This spelling list is a bit of a challenge....some need another night of practice.

We have now started chapter 5 in math.  It is on subtraction with and without regrouping of 2-digit numbers.

Wednesday

We will enjoy making Friendship Fruit next week.  Your child should have brought home a letter telling about the Friendship Fruit and what item they will be contributing.  You can send these items in next week.

We will be having a spelling test tomorrow and Friday.

Permission slips are being sent home today about your child enjoy the Funflatables next week!  

Also, Progress Reports are being sent home today.  Please sign and return the bottom.

Friday

We are now adding 3, and soon, 4, 2-digit numbers, with and without regrouping.  Please review at home, as needed.

We are working in reading on the story, "A Trip to the Firehouse."  We are working on topic, main idea, and details.

Spelling test on Thursday and Friday.

Please have your child read, "A Trip to the Firehouse".

If your child is having a bit of difficulty in regrouping please set at the kitchen table with them and show them how you learned the concept of "carrying the one".....which is regrouping.

Thursday

Have a wonderful long weekend with your child.  I will be at school until 8:00 tonight for conferences and then will be back in the morning for conferences until noon.

Remember, we do not have school on Monday!

We finished our Iowa Test of Basic Skills today.

The Veterans Assembly was very nice.

There will be no school on Friday due to P-T conferences.

November 4

Our school is an Election Polling location.  Beware of extra cars and traffic in the parking lot tomorrow if you drop off or pick up your child.

No spelling this week.

We are now regrouping in math.  Remember "carrying the one"?  Well, that's it!

The Iowa Test of Basic Skills test will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Our Veterans Day assembly will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.

NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON FRIDAY!  WE WILL BE HAVING PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES ON THURSDAY AFTER SCHOOL AND FRIDAY UNTIL NOON.
