Thursday

The spelling test was a challenge today.  Several students will need to retake the test tomorrow.

No math homework tonight!  We began a new chapter today on addition.  

Tomorrow is our Halloween class party and the hallway parade for K-2.  Please have your child bring their costume in a bag or in their book bag.  Please do not let your child wear their costume to school.

Tuesday

Our class will be going to the book fair on Thursday afternoon.

Our class Halloween party is this Friday.  A reminder is begin sent home today.

Also, the students in our class will take a math test tomorrow over chapter 3.  The students are bringing home a study guide.  I do not need the study guide back.

Wednesday

The students are bringing home a little box and letter that tells about a program called, "Pennies For Patients".

We got to attend an assembly this morning sponsored by the American Red Cross on the importance of blood donation.  There will be a blood drive here at our school soon.  Your child will be bringing home information about it.  The hours of the blood drive are in the evening.

Lots of our students got a 100% on spelling today!!!!!  Only a few need to take it again tomorrow.

Remember, there is no school on Friday!!!  Maybe you can enjoy the Circleville Pumpkin Show or the Bainbridge Fall Festival of Leaves.

Friday

School will be in session on Columbus Day which is Monday.

School will not be in session on Friday, October 18.

Cookie dough pick up from the PTO fundraiser will be on Wednesday, October 16, in the Rubber Gym, at the school, from 3:00-6:00 p.m.  Cookie dough will not be sent home on the bus.  If your child sold cookie dough you must pick it up at the school on this date.

Only a few students will need to retake their spelling test tomorrow....no one missed more than 1 word!!!

In math we are subtracting and discussing how addition and subtraction problems are related or alike.

Monday is Christopher Columbus Day. We do have school.  Starting tomorrow we will read and discuss who Christopher Columbus was and why he is famous.

There is no school on Friday, October 18.

Wednesday

The students have a book-in-a-bag to read tonight.

Also, we will have a spelling test tomorrow.

Tuesday

The students will have math homework tonight.  Please assist them with this, as needed, and have them return the homework to school tomorrow.

If your child brings home their reading book please have them practice out of it and put it back into the book bag for the next day at school.

With our mornings being quite chilly please encourage your child to either dress in layers or bring a light-weight jacket or sweatshirt.

I forgot to run off a new book in a bag book so we will start back up with that on Wednesday.  

Our new spelling words have double consonants this week.

In math we are adding!!!!

I signed up our class to shop at the Book Fair on Thursday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m.

I have send home 2 new Scholastic Book orders.  I have also given the code for any of you who may want to order online.  Orders are due back by Oct. 14.

Thursday

Spelling test again tomorrow for those who need another change.

Yearbooks were passed out today for those who ordered on in first grade.  If you ordered online or sent money directly to Downtown Photography the yearbook will be delivered tomorrow.

In math we are in chapter 3 on addends, differences, and sums.

It's October!

Our tenth month has arrived!

Just a reminder that school picture day is this Thursday.

Please study the spelling words with your child and have them practice reading the story, "Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett".

Sorry, the exercise pyramid is not due until next Monday for the P.E. teacher!!
