Spelling test tomorrow!

Test over the story, "The Great Ball Game" will be on Friday.

Tuesday

Our class is now studying money in math.  The best review you can give your child is by having them count out various small amounts of coins.  We have now learned the value of the half-dollar, quarter, dime, nickle, and penny.  We have also learned how to count money in various groups.  The more real-life experience the students have with this the better they can count money.  

The temperatures are to drop back to the twenties by Thursday!!!!

Monday

The spelling words for this week are the following:  boat, cold, road, blow, gold, old, load, snow, hold, most, toe, show, goal, rainbow, oatmeal

Wednesday

The students are bringing home address booklets to be filled out for a PTO fundraiser.  Just write the names and addresses of family and friends and send the completed booklet back tomorrow.

Our class will be taking a math test tomorrow.  The students are bringing home a study guide today.

No spelling test tomorrow or Friday!!

Tuesday

Our class does not have any spelling words this week.

Please encourage your child to study their Rocket Math practice sheet.

I have also noticed a few of the girls have not been wearing socks with their shoes....it make be a cute fasion statement, but our skin needs covered up in extreme cold weather!!!!

There will be no school on Monday, January 21, for Dr. M.L.King Jr. Day.

We will not be having new spelling words next week.

Thursday

The second spelling test over the words that go with the story "Ant" will be tomorrow, Friday, January 18.

We will not be taking a reading test over the story "Ant".

Just a little reminder that we do not have school on Monday, January 21, due to it being Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Tuesday

Our students will not be having school tomorrow due to it being a workday between the 1st semester ending and the 2nd semester beginning.

Our math lessons for chapter 11 are a mixture of addition and subtraction 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping.

Tuesday

Tomorrow we will enjoy going to the yo-yo assembly!!!

We are currently reading the story, "Officer Buckle and Gloria".  Please have your child practice this story this week at home.

Our spelling list this week is the r-controlled sound spelled /ar/.

Thursday-Our 1st day back!

Happy New Year!!  The students have transitioned well back to school and our routine!!  I am especially proud of them for retaining so much information in subtracting with and without regrouping!!!!!
