Monday

We have a short week this week!  We will get out for Thanksgiving break after school tomorrow!  The students do not return to school until Tuesday, November 27.

We will combine all the fruit the students bring in tomorrow to enjoy our, "Friendship Fruit".

We wrote Thanksgiving stories today about what the students have learned about the Pilgrims and the Indians during that first year.

No spelling words, reading logs, or books in a bag this week!!

Thursday

This afternoon between 3 and 5 fundraiser items may be picked up in the Market Day area.  If items are not picked up today they will be sent home with the student tomorrow.

Next Tuesday we will be making our Friendship Fruit.

There is a menu change for next Tuesday.  It will be a Thanksgiving lunch.  I will have each item listed on the 2-M News tomorrow.

Wednesday

Our class will be having a spelling test tomorrow over words with the long a sound spelled /ai, ay/.

The students are bringing home a paper today about the Friendship Fruit we will be putting together next Thursday!

Fundraiser items will be delivered to the school tomorrow during Market Day pick-up.

Tuesday

Our spelling list for this week is the following:  train, tray, mail, play, trail, pay, snail, hay, nail, rain, they, great, stay, subway, maybe


We are currently working on the story, "A Trip to the Firehouse".

Friday

There will be no school on Monday for Veteran's Day.

Thursday

Our class will be having a test tomorrow over the reading story, "Chinatown".  The students are bringing home a study guide today.

The Veteran's Day Assembly will be in the morning at 9:00.

Wednesday

The second graders will be taking the math portion of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills on Thursday.

Our class will also be taking a spelling test tomorrow.

A new book-in-a-bag was sent home today!

Election Day!

Our second graders will be taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Veteran's Day Assembly will be on Friday at 9:00 a.m.  All are invited to attend.

Thursday

Picture retake day will be on Monday, November 5.

We will begin on a new story tomorrow, "Chinatown".  We have been reading and discussing fables the last two days.
