Friday!!

What a wonderful day we had on our field trip to Circle S Farms!!  Thank you to all the great parents who went with us!!!!

Thursday

We will be going on our field trip to Circle S Farms tomorrow!  Remember to pack your child a sack lunch with a drink!!!!  This is such a nice trip!

Your child is bringing home the 2-M News for next week and the spelling list for next week since we will be out of the classroom the majority of the day tomorrow.

I read a really neat story to the class today about an apple and then we used the seeds in an experiment that they are bringing home!  Enjoy!!!

Wednesday

The students are bringing home a reminder and informational paper about our field trip on Friday!!  Please read over it.

The boys are bringing home a paper about joining Boy Scouts.

We will be having a reading test tomorrow over the selection, "Mrs. Brown Went to Town".











 

Tuesday

Picture envelopes are being sent home today.  You can check out the prices and the variety of background choices.  Paying online is also an option.  Picture day is next Wednesday.  Please do not have your child wear green!!!

A study guide for our next reading test is also being sent home today!!

We have a new student!  We now have 23 students in our class.

Monday!

We had a fire drill today which always adds excitement to our day!!

No spelling this week.
The story your child should be practicing this week is still, "Mrs. Brown Went To Town".
Our test over this story will be on Thursday.  I will send a study guide home on Wednesday.

Reading Logs-Because I am a mom, too, I understand how hectic things can be.....I would prefer to have the reading log turned in on Fridays.....however, I will accept them on Monday if they are forgotten to be turned in on Friday.

Progress Reports are being sent home today.  Please sign and return the bottom portion back to school on Monday.

Thursday

Today we planted 3 different types of seeds to view their sprouting!  I appreciate a family in our classroom giving us a "Root Viewer" to watch the amazing growth of seeds!! 

The students are bringing home a notice of when school pictures will be!!!

Reading logs are due tomorrow.

Wednesday!!

We will have two tests tomorrow!  One in math over comparing and ordering numbers and the other in spelling.  The students were given a study guide to help review for tomorrow's math test.  I do not need the study guide back.

Monday

Our spelling words for this week go with the story, "Mrs. Brown Went To Town".  This story is one we will spend this week and next week on.  We will have spelling this week, but not next week.

Thursday

Several of the students got a 100% on their spelling test today!  If your child needs to retake the test tomorrow please study again tonight!  I always take the better of the two scores of two tests are given.

Our class will be taking a reading test tomorrow over, "Julius".  Your child is bringing home a study guide tonight.

If you haven't sent in the permission slip and field trip money please do so by the 25th of September.

Our school is taking a money donation collection for the Ragland family. 

Reading logs are due tomorrow, as well!!!!!

Tuesday

Grandparent's Day yesterday was the best ever!!!! Please let the grandparents know we tryly enjoyed their visit and our program was very sweet.

Our class will be taking a math test tomorrow over number patterns and the students are bringing home a study guide.

A great day!!!!! Remember that our Grandparent's Day will be on Monday morning from 9-10.

I will pass back yesterday's reading test tomorrow. I still have a few more left to grade. This first test was read to the students.

Tomorrow the spelling test will be given to those who did not receive a 100% today.

Monday is Grandparent's Day in grade two. We invite all grandparents to come from 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Our first reading test over the selection, "Dragon Gets By", is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5. The students are bringing home a study guide to help in reviewing for tomorrow's test.

We have 2 class birthdays this week! Forgive me for not putting them on the weekly 2-M News.

The second graders are also bringing home a paper about Grandparent's Day. Grandparent's Day for grade 2 is next Monday.
