Happy Leap Day!

Reading Class: Our class will have their spelling test over the words for the story, "Brothers and Sisters", tomorrow.

Tomorrow is March 1....will it begin like a lion or a lamb?

Tuesday

Math: Our math class will be taking a test tomorrow over tables and graphs. The students are bringing home a study guide today.

Reading: The students in our class should be practicing the story, "Brothers and Sisters". Also, I sent home the spelling list on Friday of the words that go along with this story. Our tests will be on Thursday and Friday of this week.

****Reading logs are always due on Friday!!!!!!

Monday

Reading Class: The following are our new spelling words for he week of Feb. 27-Mar. 2:

flower, water, under, over, better, brother, sister, mother, father, after, that, shop, center, other, between

We are looking forward to February ending and March beginning!!! The birthday of the late Dr. Seuss is this Friday. We will do many activities next week in celebration of this wonderful author.

Wednesday

Reading class: We are now reading the story, "Brothers and Sisters". Our spelling words are 25 review words. I have given up to 3 copies of the words for some students.

Math: We will begin a chapter on tables and graps tomorrow.

All reading logs are always due on Fridays!!

Thursday

There is no school on Monday, February 20, in honor of President's Day.


Reading class: Next week we will be having 25 review words.
Math: We are working on understanding time....days, weeks, months, years, etc.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to one all all!

We are now supposed to have personal safety in the morning from 8:10-8:40 a.m.

Monday

Tomorrow is our Valentine's Party! In the event we would be on a delay for bad weather we would still have our party at 2:15. In the event school would be cancelled due to bad weather we would have our party on Wednesday, February 15, at 2:15. It's good to have a plan b!

Math: We will have our test over telling time tomorrow. The students will bring a study guide home today.

Reading: Please have your child read the story, "The Great Ball Game" throughout this week. We have no spelling words this week.

Our Valentine party is Tuesday, at 2:15. All are invited!

Reading: My reading class will not have new spelling words next week...we are ahead of ourselves in spelling so we are taking the week off! Our story we are currently working on is, "The Great Ball Game".

Math: On Monday we will review telling time to the half-hour, to the 15 minutes, to the 5 minutes, and to the minute. We will be ready for a test on Tuesday. I will send a study guide home on Monday.

Thursday

Tomorrow at 2:15 we will be having an assembly for grades K-8 about Pennies for Patients.

Reading: Reading Logs are due for everyone tomorrow!!!!! Also, my class has "books-in-a-bag" to turn in.

Spelling: Some students will be taking another spelling test tomorrow.

Math: We are telling time to the minute now. For example: 1:42....I am teaching the students to count by five's until they get to the number that comes right before where the minute hand is located and then count by ones to where the minute hand actually is.

Some of the kids are wearing their watches!!! Love that!!!

Tuesday

Reading: Our class will be having a test tomorrow over the story, "Ant". The students are bringing home a study guide today.

Math: We started a chapter on telling time today. If your child has a wristwatch please encourage them to wear it.

Thursday

I am sending home the Valentine party paper today along with a class list for the students to fill out their Valentine cards with. Also, the students do not need to bring in a special box to put their Valentines in. We will make cute Valentine sacks in the classroom.

Reading: Our spelling test will be again tomorrow.
Math: Our math class is taking a test tomorrow and they are bringing home a study guide.

We had a great day and it was fun to talk and read about Groundhog Day!
