Happy Halloween!

Reading class: Our class has started the story, "Around the Pond: Whose Been Here?". We will pause for the next two days in reading due to giving the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.

Math: The students will be taking a test tomorrow over regrouping. A study guide is being sent home.

Pre-sale football tickets go on sale tomorrow here at school. The cost is $7.00. At the gate the cost is $9.00.

There will be a Pep Rally for the football team on Thursday, November 3, in the high school gymnasium.

School Spirit Day is Friday!!!!

Party Day!

What a fun and exciting day it is at school today with our hallway parade and parties coming this afternoon!

Next Tuesday, November 1, at 2:15 our second grade will be having an Awards Assembly to honor any student who got perfect attendance the first grading period. Also, all A's and all A's and B's will be honored for the first nine weeks.

Report cards go home today. Please sign the envelope and return it to school on Monday.

Trick-or-Treat Night!

We're having a fun and wild day while looking forward to trick-or-treating tonight in Concord and Deerfield Townships!

Our Halloween parties will be tomorrow with the annual hallway parade for K-1-2 starting shortly after 2:00. Our classroom parties will follow the parade in the hallway.

If your child wants to bring their costume to school tomorrow we request the costume is in their book bag and not worn to school.

Spelling tests will be given again tomorrow!

Math: We are working with regrouping.

We all enjoyed shopping at the Book Fair today! A big thanks to the Altrusa Club in Chillicothe for providing all the students with a gift certificate of $6.99 to shop at the Book Fair!

Camping/Reading Fun Tonight!

Come out to our Literacy Night today at 5:30 for a lot of good camping and reading fun! K-2 time is 5:30-6:30 with registration starting at 5:00. 3-6 time is from 6:30-7:30 with registration starting at 6.

Reading logs are due tomorrow for all of second grade!

No school on Friday.

PTO Fundraiser kick-off assembly is tomorrow at 2:15.

Tuesday

Attention all math classes in 2nd grade: No math homework tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reading: On Thursday, we will be taking the test over, "Henry and Mudge". Also, reading logs are due on Thursday.

There is no school on Friday.

PTO fundraiser kick-off is this Thursday at 2:00.

A Short Week!

We only come to school through Thursday this week! Friday is COTA which is Central Ohio Teachers Association.

There is no spelling at all this week for our second graders!!

Reading logs are due on Thursday this week, due to no school on Friday.

There is a PTO meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m.

Our second graders will be taking the math assessment tomorrow morning. This test is a nine weeks test. Our reading test was this morning.

Friday

First, a big "thanks" to Firefighter Lowell Pollock for coming in and teaching the kids about fire safety, explaining his duties about a firefighter, and answering questions.

No spelling next week in second grade!!!

Our 1st nine weeks reading assessment test is Monday and the math test is Tuesday of next week.

Thursday

2-M Math Class: The students have homework tonight plus a study guide for a test over subtraction strategies on Friday.

2-M Reading: The spelling tests today were great!!! A few will retake the test tomorrow.

Homeroom: School spirit day is tomorrow! Wear blue!!!! The next PTO meeting is Monday at 6.

Picture Day Went Great!

Picture day went great today! I think all the kids smiled nicely!!!!

2-M Reading: spelling test tomorrow and we are reading the story, "Henry and Mudge"...also, we will not be ready for our next test until the end of next week.

2-M Math: We are practicing our subtraction strategies. No homework tonight.

Homeroom: Reading Logs due on Friday for all!!!!!

Tuesday

2-M Math: We are studying subtraction strategies...Saxon math homework tonight.

2-M Reading: We are now reading the story, "Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night". Please have your child practice this story with you at least 3 nights per week.

Homeroom: We are talking about ways to prevent fires from ever starting. The students will be designing a fire prevention poster on Friday for a local contest.

Picture day tomorrow!!

Happy Columbus Day!

We have been enjoying reading some really good books about Christopher Columbus.

Don't forget that this Wednesday is individual picture day.

For a Monday this has been a delightful start to the week!

Spirit Day for grade 2 is Friday...wear blue!!!!!

The students are bringing home their picture day envelopes of information today. Picture day is next Wednesday.

2-M Math: The students are having a test tomorrow and are bringing home a study guide.

2-M Reading: Our class has had no spelling words this week so no test. We will finish our test tomorrow over "Mrs. Brown". Some of the students need a bit of extra time to complete the test.

Wednesday

It's so nice to have the warm temperatures back! Let's all enjoy the outdoors!!

For those of you who ordered Scholastic Books from the book order, the order should arrive by the end of the week or the very beginning of next week! With our order I was able to get some free books for our classroom!! Thanks!!

Picture day is fast approaching! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 12. Information from the school will be coming home soon.

Mid-Ohio Food Bank will be at our school tomorrow...come get some fresh fruits and veggies...FREE!!!!!
