A New Student!

Tomorrow we welcome a new student to our classroom! We will now have 20 students. P-T Conf. are this Thursday....... The new windows are very nice!!!!!

New Windows!

We get our new windows in our classroom today! We will go into Mrs. Bryans' room while the workers are replacing the old with the new. The second grade awards assembly will be tomorrow, Tuesday, March 29, at 2:15.

Tornado Drill Today!

Our drill for the state-tornado drill went great! The kids conducted themselves very as we practiced what to do in the event of threatening weather.

We would love for you to come to the school library next Tuesday, March 29, for our next levy meeting. We need your support of the school levy and appreciate your vote!

Friday

We will resume our normal class schedule now that the nine weeks testing is over. My reading class is currently working on the story, "Carousel". Our spelling words next week will be words ending with /y/ that have a long e sound.

For any interested there will be a levy meeting here at the school at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Spring begins on Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a Spring person!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Wow! What a day it has been! We started off this morning with some yummy green treats from Grandma Denise and topped off the afternoon with frosty Sharmrock Shakes!

What a week it's been for illness in second grade. I hope for health for everyone next week!

Sickness has hit second grade!

Our second grade is being hit quite hard right now with a variety of illnesses. Please take every precaution to protect your children from becoming sick. Enforce proper hand washing, bathing, etc. at home.

I am making sure each desk is cleaned each day, along with the pencil sharpener, the door knobs to our room, and both sides of the pod door.

This week and next week =)

This week our reading class has finished up the story "Jalapeno Bagels" and took a test today. We have no new spelling words for this week or next. The remainder of this week and next Monday will be spent in reviewing concepts and skills for our 9 weeks reading test next Tuesday, March 15.

In math we are studying about measurement. We will soon start measurement of capacity in cups, pints, quarts, etc. Our math 9 weeks test will be next Wednesday, March 16.

March 7-11

My reading class will be having their test over the story "Jalapeno Bagels" on Tuesday.
