Field Trip Tomorrow!

Our field trip is tomorrow!! Please remember to send your child to school with a packed lunch along with a drink. If you are going on the field trip you need to pack a lunch, also! You will pay your admission fee at the farm upon arrival.

No spelling tomorrow!

No spelling tests tomorrow, but we would like the students to turn in their reading logs tomorrow since on Friday we will leave for the field trip at approximately 8:20 a.m.

Your child is bringing home a paper regarding the field trip today!

Also, the Media Center is sending home a paper entitled, "Treats for Troops".

Tuesday

All of the students in our homeroom have paid for the field trip!!!!! Remember, we all need to pack a lunch and drink for our field trip on Friday.

We ended up not having any rain today in Frankfort and got outside for both of our recesses!

Today has been our first day of inside recess. The kids are being so well-behaved! They are enjoying playing with the toys and games that we have for inside recess.

Early Release Friday

Wow! Early release days can be fast and furious! My reading class is bringing home a study guide and will have a reading test on Monday over "Mrs. Brown Went To Town".

SECOND GRADE WILL NOT HAVE SPELLING WORDS NEXT WEEK DUE TO OUR FIELD TRIP ON FRIDAY!

If you have not paid your child's $6.00 for our field trip to Circle S Farms please do so by next Wednesday.

Parents: If you are going on the field trip you will pay your admission as soon as you arrive to Circle s.

Wear White on Tuesday!

We are all wearing a white shirt tomorrow, Tuesday, September 21, to honor the International Day of Peace. All grades K-8 are going to be inside a big peace sign that Mrs. Lusk has drawn on the front lawn. There will be an arial photo taken of our student body sometime around 9:30 a.m. of us showing "peace" at our school!

Thursday

The students are bringing home information about our first field trip!

The second spelling test is tomorrow.

My reading class is having a test tomorrow over the story,"Julius". The students took home a study guide yesterday.

***Health Concern*** Regularly check your child's hair for lice. We have had a case of lice in our classroom.

Wednesday the 15th

Wow! It's already the middle of September....time goes way too fast! Sorry I haven't blogged since last Friday! Busy~busy =)

Spelling tests are tomorrow and Friday. Check the teacher blog of who your child has for reading to look at their spelling words....if you can't locate them!

My math class has started ch. 3....using ordinal number...ex. first, second, etc. Also, we will work with greater than, less than, and equal to. We will also be "rounding".

Reading-Please have your child read their assigned story. For my reading class it is, "Julius". Our reading test is this Friday. Your child is bringing home a study sheet today.

Next Tuesday is International Day of Peace. It has been requested we all wear white on that day. If your child has any kind of white t-shirt feel free to dress them in it....don't worry if there are other colors or writing on it!

What a beautiful day we have been blessed with!

We are watching 2 monarch chrysalis' in the classroom. We have 2 monarch caterpillars that are still eating milkweed!

Wednesday

Our second graders will be having a spelling test tomorrow.

Remember, reading logs are always due on Friday.

Football tickets for home games will be sold this Friday at school for students at the price of $3.00 per ticket. Ms. Jett the AD will be around in the afternoon to sell tickets to students in their homeroom classes.

Back from Labor Day

We are back from Labor Day and have enjoyed sharing with each other any special activities we got to do over the long weekend!

Next week we hope to begin Book Club so this week after first recess we are practicing "centers". This week my homeroom is having a computer, listening, game, and apple center. Ask your child which center they were in today! They will get to enjoy each center as the week progresses.

Reading Class: My reading class will be having their first reading test over, "Dragon Gets By" tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8. I will send home a study guide with your child today.

Labor Day Weekend

What a great beginning to the school year this has been!

Spelling tests went great! I was extremely pleased with how well my reading class did!

Math: Our class is ready for their first math test on Tuesday....your child is bringing home a study guide and letter explaining this.

Reading: My reading class is still working on the story, "Dragon Gets By". We will be ready for a test on Wednesday. I will send a review/study guide home on Tuesday.
