Hot Tuesday!

Wow! It's hot! I know this isn't new news.....but, it was soooo warm as early as 9:35 this morning when I went out for 1st recess duty!

Please encourage your child to wear soft comfy clothes and bring a water bottle all this week to school. We need to stay hydrated!

All of the second grade reading classes are currently practicing all the skills necessary for the story, "Dragon Gets By". Depending on who your child has for reading their spelling list may vary a bit. I will try hard each week to post the spelling list I have for my reading class. Also, I will post the vocabulary and high frequency words....which will be the same for all reading classes.

What awesome days in second grade we are having.......HEALTH ALERT: We are on tissue box #3 since school has started.....I suspect allergies?????

Wow! What a fast day!!

Today is going by super fast due to switching classes for reading and math. Please take a good look at your child's papers tonight in case their reading or math teacher sent home a special letter or instructions for class.

Our switching makes the day go super fast!

Book Club won't be starting for a couple of weeks due to determining each child's current reading level.

I've talked to our homeroom about dressing appropriately for the the warm weather this week. Please dress your child in cool comfy clothes! Don't forget the kids can bring a water bottle!

The School Year Has Begun!

We are off and running into our new school year and so far so GREAT!
This blog is intended to help keep you updated on classroom news as it arises. Right now our filtration system at school is blocking "blogger.com", so I am blogging at home. However, we hope to have our system fixed by the middle of next week, if not before.

Our classroom currently has 10 girls and 10 boys.
We are spending this week going through review lessons in reading and math. Next week the students will begin to switch classes!

I hope your child has told you about the all the Monarch caterpillars we have been observing in our classroom. It is really interesting to watch how much they eat! The kids made books today and hopefully you've already read the book together!
