Tuesday-2nd Grade Field Day!

If you are coming to help with field day please arrive by 9:00. Check in with Mr. Cox in the gym for any instructions.

Please have your child bring a filled water bottle....also, you may want to send sunscreen, as our afternoon activities will be outside.

Second Grade Field Day

Our second grade field day will be on Tuesday, May 25. Our class color will be Columbia blue. If your child has a light blue t-shirt that will be fine to wear!

Make sure your child wears gym shoes with socks on field day.

The students can bring a water bottle on field day. Please make sure their name is located on their water bottle.

Tennis tomorrow!

All of our students will be going to the gym tomorrow for tennis instruction complements from someone coming out from the Chillicothe Raquet Club!! Please have your child wear gym shoes!

Author Visit

We enjoyed a lovely visit from our guest author, Marlane Kennedy. The kids were well-behaved and asked a lot of good questions. My homeroom class got to hear the entire chapter book this week. We finished it at 10:30 this morning!

Visited Mrs. Scott

I got to see Mrs. Scott last night and visit with her. She is doing very well and appreciates all the well-wishes she has been receiving. If anyone would like her hospital address just email me at school or send a note with your child and I will be happy to make sure you get it!

Reading and Math tests on Wednesday!

My classes for reading and math will both be having tests tomorrow! Why I do this to myself, I'll never know! Anyway, the math test is over Ch. 29 on adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers. The students are bringing home a study guide today.

The reading test is over the selection, "The School Mural". The students are bringing home a study guide that has the concepts and skills that will be tested over.

Second Grade Grandparents Day Tomorrow!

Just a quick reminder that our Grandparents are welcome to come tomorrow from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Our second graders have been working hard on a nice program to perform for all the grandparents!

Don't forget to go vote today!!!! I am very much in support of the Library levy. I always took my kids to the Northside Branch for Book Worm in the summer! Help reopen that wonderful facility!

Book Fair and Picture Day

This Wednesday, May 5, is our day to go to the Book Fair and have our class picture taken. I know you're being bombarded with spending money right now....sorry! Of course, both are totally optional! All the students will stand on risers and have their picture taken with their homeroom class. This is always a nice memento for the students. The spring Book Fair is located in the library. Each class will visit the Book Fair during their library time this week. Our time is 1:15-2:00 p.m.
